Aircraft Owners Fuel Prices Protected with Fuel Surcharge Controls
March 24, 2011

Corporate Jets Rises To the Occasion

Corporate Jets has always placed a high priority on the interests of its aircraft owners. This is reflected among many other ways, in the company’s policy regarding fuel surcharges. While other charter companies are slow to react when fuel prices rise or fall, Corporate Jets’ response is immediate. We protect our aircraft owners by fixing the maximum cost of fuel on all charters. This sets the direct operating cost for the owner, which sets the profit margin. Other charter companies pass on a fixed hourly fuel surcharge to the aircraft owner. The cost of fuel changes frequently and is different at all locations.

The problem with this method is that there is no connection between what is being charged to the charter customer, paid to the aircraft owner, and the actual fuel price the owner is paying. Corporate Jets protects its aircraft owners from losing money when their plane is chartered, no matter how high fuel prices become. Many other management companies allow the aircraft owner to lose profits when the price of fuel goes up. This temporarily pleases the charter customers, but in the long term it is better to protect the aircraft owner and have the charter customer pay a fair price. After all, without the aircraft owners there are no aircraft to charter.

With its new office in Orange County – as well as its office in Van Nuys in a Signature Flight Facility - Corporate Jets is able to retain lower fuel prices. Corporate Jets passes these savings along to our aircraft owners and is able to be more competitive with charters as well. This is another reason to have Corporate Jets manage your aircraft!
